BLOG: Basic Styles Tree Decoration

Do you want to decorate your Christmas tree in a certain style? In this blog, we set out some tips & tricks to give your tree a country, classic or modern look. The colours of the Christmas baubles already form a great base, but by adding a range of other ornaments, you can really emphasise the style.

Classic

Say classic and we say Norway Spruce; it’s the perfect tree for it. This tree is a mixture of various iconic pine trees, which produces a wonderful, realistic tree. The one we have decorated here is also 210 cm in height, with a diameter of 147, so it’s a lovely bushy tree!

Of course, red baubles belong in a classically decorated Christmas tree; here, we have gone for oxblood – a colour that has a warm glow, making it ideal for a classic home decor style. But we mustn’t forget to add some gold, which we’ve combined here with pearl for a warmer, more elegant look overall. For this tree too, we have used sprays of twigs as ornaments, and as you can see, they go very well in a classic style.

Modern

This time, we’ve given the Grandis Fir a completely modern look; you can achieve all kinds of effects with this tree. It has short needles and graceful branches, making it perfect for hanging Christmas baubles and ornaments further amongst the foliage for more depth. You can hardly tell this 210-cm tree from the real thing, and has lots of advantages, including no dead needles all over the place :-).

For this tree, we used the colours dark brown, camel, warm grey and winter white; the colours grey and white give it a contemporary – industrial even – look. Often, the shapes of the ornaments give this tree its decisively modern twist; here, it’s worked well due to the choice of decoration. However, wooden ornaments work very well in a modern tree too.

Country-style tree decoration

The tree we have decorated here is an Imperial Pine. It is a fabulous artificial Christmas tree measuring 210 cm in height. This tree has soft needles to give it a natural look. The hinging system makes this tree very easy to set up, but here we have an unfolding video for you and here is some more detailed information about this tree.

The ambiance of the country style is casual, nonchalant and cosy, bringing us closer to nature. It often features lots of natural tones and products. Pastels and nude shades are very suitable for this look. The country style can turn out a bit raw and rustic, but it can be soft and romantic too; in other words, you can achieve quite varying effects with it.

We have decorated this tree in the basic colours wool white, camel and sage green to which we have added a variety of other ornaments such as sprays of twigs. The addition of sprays produces a natural effect.
